L A R O S I E R E is for....

I have lived in La Rosiere for 10 years, it’s a magical place and I thought I would share with you why I love it so much.

L  - is for Lots of snow!  In fact, La Rosiere frequently tops the charts with snow depth stats in France. Almost always in the top 4. La Rosiere sits just behind Mt Blanc and benefits from a micro climate bringing huge snowfalls.

A - is for Altitude. The centre of the resort sits at 1850mts. That’s 400mts higher than Meribel and a thousand metres higher than Morzine. That’s a whole Snowden higher. A fairly recently upgraded lift system whisks you up to 3,000mts.

R - is for Rosé or pink in French. The stunningly beautiful pink sunsets are where La Rosiere gets its name from.

O - is for Ot Tub. We have two gorgeous chalets here, both with hot tubs. Relax and enjoy a glass of bubbly under the stars in the snow. Unbeatable views and sunsets.

S - is for the San Bernardo ski area, the combined La Rosiere-La Thuille ski area. 200kms of pistes and over 40 ski lifts. It’s fairly big (La Plagne is 240kms, Les Arcs 220kms).

I - is for Italy. La Rosiere is linked to La Thuille in Italy. It’s all on the same lift pass. Pasta or pizza for lunch anyone?

E - is for Ecudets, the lowest altitude point in the ski area is 1150mts at the bottom. Almost a 2,000mts descent from the highest point.

R - is for Raclette banquet. We serve this local delicacy every week in our chalets. Did you know that Raclette means “scraper” and we scrape the grilled cheese onto charcuterie meats, boiled potatoes, grilled veg and pickles. Yummy.

E -  is for Les Eucherts (pronounced - lez oooshare). This tastefully built satellite village has significantly enhanced the resort town. An ice rink, bowling alley and night club are found here along with a variety of shops, bars and restaurants. There’s a lovely 15 minute lit up walk connecting the villages through the woods, known locally as Narnia!

And that my friends … sums up La Rosiere. Come stay with us, you’ll love it.
