Montchavin is possibly the prettiest resort village of the La Plagne ski area. This contemporary chalet has been constructed in keeping with the cute cobbled alpine town in which it sits. It is a favourite chalet amongst our guests with many families and groups coming back year after year. The chalet, laid out over 4 floors, has views over the piste and village as well as the Tarentaise Valley towards Mont Blanc. Access to both La Plagne or Les Arcs ski area is just 100 mts away on the nearest lift. You can ski back right to the door most weeks of the season from intermediate level and above.
On the ground floor there are two ensuite twin rooms. On the first floor is the kitchen, dining area and lounge with a fireplace and doors to the balcony sharing fabulous views of the piste with the hot tub and sauna located in the top garden. Wrap around glass windows give a fabulous view of the ski run back home. On the next floor is two rooms, a quad with 2 sets of twins separated by the bathroom, ideal for a family and another twin ensuite. On the top floor, Chalet Snowflake offers another spacious family room with 4-5 single beds. All twins can be adapted for couples by pushing the beds together.
Hot Tub and Sauna: From the main living space there is a small garden with a large hot tub and barrel sauna where you can have a glass of wine or beer whilst watching the mountains turn a beautiful sunset pink.
The hot-tub became an evening, pre-dinner, must for all of us, something quite appealing to be outside, relaxing in warm, bubbly water looking across to the mountains (Debbie 19 Jan 25)
With ski-in-ski-out possible most of the season, the main gondola only a few minutes walk away and an apres-ski bar close by, the chalet really is situated in a one of the best spots in Montchavin.

Favourite place I’ve skied?
I’ve been lucky enough to ski all over the world but Japan definitely takes the top spot! The combination of deep powder days, steaming bowls of ramen on the mountain and the chance to unwind in an onsen afterwards makes it such a unique and unforgettable experience.
Favourite Après Tune?
Jubel by Klingande - preferably played loud while dancing in ski boots with friends and an Aperol Spritz in hand!

Hi, I’m James, from Henley. I’m a Farmer in the UK and I’m absolutely thrilled to be leaving my noisy tractors behind for the idillic Chalet Snowflake this winter.
Favourite place to ski?
I’ve had the privilege of skiing all over the world, but I have to admit that I have a special fondness for Courchevel Le Praz. Growing up skiing in the 3 Valleys, it holds a special place in my heart.
What’s my favourite thing about skiing?
It’s definitely a delicious lift baguette! I can’t resist a generous helping of Mayonnaise de Dijon.
Favourite cocktail?
I hold a deep appreciation for a well made Piña Colada, although I’m not particularly fussy and a piste side Vin Chaud will do me just fine!

Parking: Covered parking is available on a first come first served basis to be booked in advance (2 spaces available - please let us know by email you would like to reserve parking) and there is street parking on the main road surrounding the village.
Chalet Snowflake has copious amounts of hot water. We offer shower gel/shampoo, conditioner and hand soap, fluffy towels and bathrobes (bathrobes for adults over 18 only, they are too big for the younger ones)! Chalet Snowflake is a non-smoking chalet and ashtrays are provided on balconies for smokers. Please refer to the floor plans when booking as you may wish to select a particular room or floor. Your Chalet Hosts live out.
Chalet Snowflake is located close to the village, making it very easy for you to come and go as you please. If you have small children it’s easy to pop back to the chalet if they need a break. Adults too! This chalet is ski in, subject to snow conditions. Chalet Snowflake is just a few minutes walk from the centre of the quaint cobbled village, where you will find a variety of shops, restaurants, bars, bakery, delicatessen, supermarket and a swimming pool complex.
The Montchavin gondola is just a few minutes walk from the chalet and takes you into Les Coches, from where you can access La Plagne or take a gentle 150m ski to the Vanoise Express from where the vast Paradiski® ski area beckons. La Plagne is linked to Les Arcs and Peisey Vallandry via the Vanoise Express, making the area into what is known as the Paradiski®; one of the largest ski terrains in Europe. “A playground with no boundaries”, with 425 skiable kilometres, 264 tracks, 3250 metres of altitude at the top of the domain. The ski schools for the area are easily accessible either in Montchavin itself or just at the top of the Les Coches cable car.

When they linked La Plagne and Les Arcs together to create Paradiski, the third largest skiable area in the world was created. La Plagne ski resort, including its linked area with Les Arcs, has over 460kms of piste across an altitude ranging from 1250m to 3250m. In 2006 the largest and fastest cable car (at the time of opening) in the world opened and linked La Plagne to Les Arcs Ski Resort creating a vast ski paradise, aptly named Paradiski®.
Continuous investment has made this one of the best ski areas in the world. Our catered ski chalets are brilliantly located right in the centre of the entire area, giving you the opportunity to select skiing in Les Arcs or La Plagne on any given day. Or even both if you are quick enough!
The local ski area is made up of wide open and undemanding slopes, making this ideal beginner and intermediate skiing territory. Directly above this area is the Bellecote mountain and from here there are plenty of challenging long off piste descents from the summit at 3417m. Our catered ski chalets, Chalet Snowflake and Chalet Edelweiss are in Montchavin La Plagne, a pretty village with shops, bars, bakery, and nice restaurants. Montchavin offers quick access to the Vanoise Express or lifts linking into the vast La Plagne ski area and with good snow conditions you can ski intermediate runs back to the village and the chalets.

Lift Passes
Order your lift passes through us and we will collect and deliver them to your chalet so you don’t have to queue up yourselves. You pay the same price as in resort and any available discounts will be applied. Order your lift passes with us at no extra cost - less stress when you arrive!
Equipment Rental delivered to the chalet
Alpinium are proud to have our own private ski equipment hire facility with British qualified ski-techs ensuring your skis and boots are delivered and fitted in the comfort of your chalet shortly after arrival or the following morning so you can relax and have another cup of tea instead of rushing out of the door and standing in a queue for your equipment. Book your equipment hire with us in Montchavin - less stress when you arrive! In Reberty, we work with All4Snow who are located very close to the chalets. They will deliver your equipment in advance of your arrival. We will send you details on how to book your equipment with them.
Dietary Requirements
All dietary requirements can be catered for when we are notified in advance during the booking process and are offered free of charge. Last minute notifications will be catered for as much as is practical (please note food ordering is completed 1 week prior to your arrival and thus last minute adaptations may be difficult).
Children
If you have children in your group, under 11’s will be served high tea (homemade children’s favourites at an earlier time of 6pm to allow parents to enjoy the evenings) unless you specify they eat with you (which will be the normal menu not the children’s menu). If any older children prefer to have high tea (homemade children’s favourites at an earlier time of 6pm), just let us know.
We supply high chairs, travel cots, kids plates and cutlery and stair gates on request. All our vehicles are fitted with child seats complying with strict French legislation.

Wifi
Whilst we do what we can to provide free wifi in all chalets, service is dependant on the number of users and proximity to the modems or boosters. If you need to connect, there will be wifi in the communal areas (with the exception of any service disruptions outside of our control) and some bedrooms may benefit from wifi also however we cannot guarantee all bedrooms will have wifi.

Early arrivals by train or self-drive for an extra day's skiing can be accommodated, please ask for further details (conditions apply and an additional charge may be applicable). Airport Transfers: We offer our guests inclusive shared transfers between the airport or train station and your chalet. Conditions apply.
Our chalets are accessible from 16.00 on arrival day, however our hosts are on their break from 13.30 and until 17.30. If you arrive between those hours with our transfers, the driver will show you around the chalet briefly. Help yourselves to tea or coffee and the hosts will be looking forward to seeing you at 17.30 or at 18.45 latest for dinner if you choose to have a wander around town. If you arrive after 20.00, whether planned or you are delayed, our Chalet Hosts will not be available for a full dinner service as they finish work strictly at 21.30 latest. They will prepare and serve what they can however they will leave the remainder of the meal ready for you to reheat/eat. If you arrive after 21.30, your driver will show you to your rooms. The hosts will have left a wonderfully prepared meal for you, ready to reheat and they will see you at breakfast the following morning from 08.00.
